Bio

As a child, Eva’s parents fostered many children for the Childrens’ Aid Society. Therefore, at a young age, she was accustomed to social workers coming to her home on a regular basis, either bringing babies or taking them to their new adoptive homes. She thought that was the best job in the world! So, she decided that she wanted to be a social worker.

Eva had a lengthy early career working with the Childrens’ Aid Society in York Region and worked in every department, except Adoption! However, she has always wanted to help others and throughout school, she was the person that others would come to with their problems.  Following that, Eva was the Team Leader for the Child and Adolescent Crisis Program at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket. In this role, Eva worked with children and youth as well as their families. She presented this benchmark program throughout Ontario and other hospitals have since based their programs on this model. Her own life circumstances gave her the experience and empathy to be there for others and it has enabled her to create a career that she has always dreamed of having. Eva also worked at Trillium Lakelands School Board as a Student Support and Attendance counsellor for 5 years.
